Ingredients

  • Oil or ghee – 2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

  • Hing – 1 pinch

  • Onion – 2 medium (finely chopped)

  • Tomato – 2 medium (pureed)

  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp

  • Green chilli – 1 (chopped)

  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp

  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp

  • Coriander powder – 1.5 tsp

  • Garam masala – 1 tsp (Sarv Shresht Garam Masala recommended 😉)

  • Kasuri methi – 1 tsp (crushed)

  • Salt – to taste

  • Fresh cream – 2 tbsp (optional)

  • Paneer – 200 gm (cubed)

  • Green peas (matar) – 1 cup (boiled)

  • Water – as needed

  • Chopped coriander – for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and a pinch of hing.
  2. Add onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilli. Cook till raw smell goes.
  4. Add tomato puree, cook till oil separates.
  5. Add turmeric, red chilli, coriander powder, salt, and roast the masala.
  6. Add boiled matar (green peas) and mix well.
  7. Pour some water and let it simmer for 5 mins.
  8. Add paneer cubes and mix gently.
  9. Add garam masala, kasuri methi, and cream (optional) for richness.
  10. Simmer for 5 mins. Adjust consistency as needed.
  11.  Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
